Your Role as a Buyer;
As a Buyer, you will play a key role in managing technical-commercial purchasing activities within the heavy industry sector. Your responsibilities will cover a wide range of procurement operations, including goods for maintenance, repair, and operations, as well as service maintenance projects and investment/Capex projects. You will oversee procurement for our operations in Belgium and the Netherlands, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and strategic alignment with company objectives.
Your Key Responsibilities;
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Work closely with local management to promote early involvement of the Procurement Department.
• Implement and monitor procurement policies, ensuring alignment with company guidelines.
• Drive cross-functional procurement activities across business lines (cement, aggregates, ready-mix concrete) and participate in group-wide projects.
• Mitigate supplier-related risks and ensure that procurement processes are effective, up-to-date, and compliant with internal standards.
• Continuously evaluate supplier performance and drive improvements in procurement strategies.
• Take ownership of procurement best practices and support their implementation across teams.
Profil
• Degree in Business Administration, Engineering (Mechanical), Supply Chain Management, or Purchasing, with basic knowledge of contract management.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in procurement, with strong negotiation and selling skills.
• Fluent in Dutch and English (French is a plus).
• SAP knowledge is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and high ethical standards.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish trust, communicate effectively, and influence key stakeholders.
• Open-minded, curious, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
