As a IT Support Specialist, you will be based at our R&D center in Vilvoorde, working on-site four days per week (Monday to Thursday). You will play a crucial role in stabilizing the IT environment and supporting scientific teams by providing both operational and advanced technical support. This role is ideal for a service-oriented IT professional who can manage onboarding processes as well as solve more complex issues that go beyond standard helpdesk support.
- Ensure that new team members have all required IT equipment (e.g., laptops, headsets) set up and functioning on their first day.
- Resolve specific, complex IT problems that are more advanced than typical helpdesk queries to maintain a stable IT environment.
- Maintain and support IT equipment, including shared devices such as printers and AV installations.

Manage and update documentation for the IT network on-site (Wi-Fi, LAN, telephones) and keep track of IT-related work orders.

Communicate with scientists to understand and address their unique technical needs within the R&D environment.

Propose CAPEX projects to enhance or stabilize the IT infrastructure.

Contribute to the team effort within a small group of 5-6 members in the Vilvoorde office, supporting a total of approximately 180 employees.

- You are fluent in English.

- You have a technical background in IT, with hands-on experience in solving complex IT issues.
- You are able to understand and anticipate the needs of R&D teams and work collaboratively with scientists.
