For the Technology Centre of Excellence of Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions in Heverlee, Belgium we are looking for a temporary Lab Technician with experience in chromatography.
Period: 5 months; starting 2nd of December 2024 till 25th of April 2025
This person will be responsible for:
- Analytical characterization of water and oil samples, mainly through use of chromatographic analysis techniques.
o Sample preparation in accordance to Standard Operating Procedures
o Conduct analysis on analytical equipment
o Review and interpretation of data analysis
o Ensures the accuracy of analytical results
o Result reporting in LIMS
- Calibrate instrumentation as necessary
- Assure suitability, accuracy, and reliability of analytical test results and methods.
- Maintenance of analytical instruments
Profiel
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in (Analytical) Chemistry, Chemical/Environmental Engineering, or equivalent
- Relevant experience in a similar role is bonus
- Background in analytical chemistry with a broad knowledge of analytical techniques (IC, LC, GC, Titrations)
- Works with minimal supervision and has wide latitude and discretion over methods used to achieve technical objectives
- Operates in compliance to procedures ensuring high quality standards (ISO9001).
- Well-organized and focused on reporting results within agreed deadlines
- Accurate and efficient in execution of the analyses as well as the reporting.
- Experience in a lab environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Fluent in English
- Available for a position of 5 months from 2nd of December 2024 - 25th of April 2025
